Waking Up the CoreUpdated 9 days ago
The Core sensor is designed to save battery by moving between different power states depending on whether it’s in use, charging, or idle. Once you know what each state means, it’s easy to get your Core awake and ready to connect in the HELIOS App.
State | How It Gets There | How to Wake / Connect | LED Confirmation |
---|---|---|---|
Active (In Session) | Inside an ongoing session (if battery remains) | App connects or stays connected automatically | LED rapidly blinks on app connection |
Active (On Charger) | Placed on wireless charging pad | Always awake; app can connect anytime | LED glow on pad |
Sleep | Off charging pad, no session running | Move or shake → wakes for ~45s window for app connection | Quick LED glow |
Shutdown | After ~1 hour off charging pad with no session started | Requires double tap on LED face to wake; then app can connect for ~45s before Sleep is entered | Quick LED glow |
Quick Tips
- Best practice: If you can’t get the Core to connect, try the double tap — this ensures it’s fully awake.
- Look for LED glow: Any transition (from sleep or shutdown) is confirmed by the LED on the logo face.
- On the charging pad: The Core is always awake, so it’s the easiest place to connect.
Note: the double tap motion replaces a previous shake-to-wake motion starting in our September 2025 firmware update.
