Troubleshoot Auto StartUpdated 30 minutes ago
If you've attempted to use Auto Start and did not collect a valid session, there could be a few possible explanations, summarized below:
- Insufficient Skating - the device needs to observe sufficient skating within 2 hours of when you pre-scheduled the Auto Start. The entire session can run well beyond the 2 hours, but it needs to trigger before the 2 hours timeout.
- Incorrect Mounting - if your device is ending Auto Start sessions (or non-Auto Start sessions) after 10 minutes due to incorrect mounting, this means your Core is not mounted correctly for proper use.
- Back Mounting - generally speaking, the device recognizes skating best on the front of your shoulder pads, so there is a chance that back mounting is a factor.
Our Recommendations:
- Hit the Ice and Skate! - the best way to trigger Auto Start is to hit the ice and start skating (a sequence of starts and stops).
- Consider Front Mounting - if that's an option (with proper mounting technique, of course). Note: it's not productive to switch from the Back to Front if it's going to be a poor mounting on the front. See Mounting the Core for guidance.
- Email us at [email protected] if you'd like to run a diagnostic Auto Start session where we can set a switch in our cloud for your next Auto Start session where we'd get diagnostic information on "how close" your device came to triggering into collection and the we can make recommendations for using Auto Start better. You would just message us after running an unsuccessful Auto Start so we can review the diagnostic information and turn the switch off for you since it increases syncing time while on.
